A modern take on the log house

The warmth of timber, engineered for how we live now

We build from glued-laminated logs - solid timber, milled precisely and bonded to stay true. You keep the natural log aesthetic and gain clean lines, big glass, and full residential comfort that holds up year after year

Why glued-laminated logs.

Solid logs are bonded under pressure and precision-profiled so each block locks tight to the next. Here's what that gets you

Holds its shape

Cross-bonded logs stay true season after season — seams stay tight, walls stay straight, and the look you move into is the look you keep.

Warm by design

High-precision profiling gives a tight, airtight seal, and we set the log thickness to your climate — so the house stays comfortable through real winters.

Built to last

Solid timber walls, treated against moisture and stress, carry the load and the years — a structural home, engineered to modern standards.

Low upkeep

Sealed and precisely milled, the timber asks for little more than the occasional refresh to keep it looking its best.

Healthy to live in

Solid softwood breathes — easing indoor humidity with no plastics in the wall. Studies link living with natural wood to lower stress and calmer days at home.

Wood is the finish

The milled timber is the finished surface, inside and out — so there's less to add and less to spend, ready for clean modern lines or warm cabin character.

Frequently asked questions about the Nordic Houses

What is a glued-laminated (glulam) log home?

It is a solid-timber home built from logs that are bonded under pressure and precision-milled so each block locks tightly to the next. You keep the natural log look and gain straight walls, tight seams, big glass and full year-round comfort.

How much does a Nordic house cost?

From $200 per square foot. The Nordic 20x20, a 400 sq ft home with one bedroom, bath, kitchen and living, fully furnished, starts at $80,000. We size and quote each home to your floor plan, finish and site.

What sizes and layouts can I get?

Anywhere from 200 to 10,000 sq ft. Choose a layout from our library, such as 400, 600, 800 or 1,000 sq ft and up, or we develop one from your sketches, whether it is a rental cabin, a full home, or a whole village.

How is it built, and how long does it take?

Your design is milled into numbered glulam blocks and palletized in sequence, then stacked on site like a kit. The solid shell goes up in a matter of days, and windows, interiors and furnishings finish it, with our on-site and remote build support.

Will it stay warm in a cold climate?

Yes. We set the log thickness to your location, with thicker logs for cold mountain country and lighter profiles for mild climates, and high-precision profiling for a tight, airtight seal. You get the comfort you need without paying for timber you do not.

Do you help with financing?

Yes. From a single unit to a full resort, there is a financing path that fits, with soft-pull monthly payments through Hearth plus SBA and larger-project lending for bigger builds.
