Tell us a bit about the story behind Harmony Domes.
What inspired the creation of the company, and what makes your structures stand out in the glamping and resort market?
Harmony really started with a shift we were seeing in two places – what guests wanted, and where operators were struggling.
People want to be closer to nature, to experience wilderness, to touch what is real, and what is true, and what inspires. But to do so – without giving up the things that make a stay comfortable. Actually, majority of the newly growing outdoor crowd are people with kids, they are happy to trade a marble lobby for a star-filled night, but they still wanted a proper bed, good food, and a place that felt designed, not improvised.
Operators, meanwhile, are trying to stitch together projects from different suppliers and learning the hard way how much that can cost – in delays, in overruns, in fixes. The market was growing fast, but the failures were too.
We built Harmony to take away that uncertainty.
We started with domes because we could make them better than anything we had seen. Strong enough for alpine snow loads, insulated enough for deep winter, adaptable enough for desert heat. Full season operation, anywhere from the Mojave to the Rockies. And they feel different inside – the scale, the openness, the way the light moves. Immersive – by design, full outdoor wilderness experience, and at the same time – the roomiest stay you can think of, even compared to 5 star hotels. We even call them the penthouses of the wilderness.
But the real change came last year – moving beyond domes to deliver the entire resort – from the first drawing to the first guest – in as little as 200 days.
That means we design the experience from the start, produce and build in house, and hand over a property that is ready to operate. We have done it more than 30 times worldwide, and we know what works – for the guest, for the operator, and for the bottom line.
Actually, for this year at the Glamping Americas Show, we are offering operators a special 30% discount on our Discovery package – a site selection, feasibility study, draft concept, and budget estimate – so they can see exactly what is possible before they commit. It is the fastest and safest way into a market that is only getting stronger.
You’re launching The Nest at Black Hawk – what can you share about this new resort?
What should guests expect from the experience, and how does it reflect your values as a brand?
The Nest at Black Hawk is very special project for us. Interesting fact – we met the clients as we were working right here, at a trade show!
They mentioned land in the mountains, only 45 minutes from Denver. Ten minutes later we were already swapping ideas. By the end of the show, we had a direction. And now the resort is opening. With bookings months before the guests arrive, and an ever-growing waitlist.
The location is great – exactly what you want for a quick escape – close enough to reach after work on a Friday, far enough to feel like you have stepped out of your everyday life. In the middle of the mountains, but with access to the Casinos in Black Hawk, if that is your thing. 30 minutes from Red Rocks Amphitheater, lots of hiking, rafting, epic railroads and scenic byways. Guests can disappear into nature, spend the day exploring, or just sit back and do relax. Families can use it. Couples can use it. We are seeing events, retreats, even people just driving up for the weekend. There is a full mix of things to do, very fun and dynamic.
It is true full season operation, runs all year, insulated for winter, cooled for summer, and every dome is a large open floor plan. Bed, bath, heating, cooling, the works. It is comfortable without losing that sense of being out there in the wilderness.
For us, The Nest is proof. Proof that when we control the process end to end – concept, design, production, build, and operations – the result works from day one. The calendar fills, the guests are happy, and the owners see the numbers they hoped for.
You’re also this year’s official Accomdation Sponsor for The Glamping Show Americas.
What made you want to align with the event in this way, and what are you hoping to gain from the partnership?
We wanted people to do more than just look at a picture or hear a pitch. We wanted them to see what a full operation looks like – from the first impression when you arrive, to the way the guest spaces are set up, to how it feels to wake up there. Not theory. The real thing!
That is why The Nest at Black Hawk is part of our booth this year. We will have buses running back and forth all day. You can check out the show, grab a coffee, then hop on and be in the mountains in slightly less than an hour. Walk the site, see the domes, get a feel for how a turnkey resort works when every part is planned together.
We are also offering discounted stays for event visitors, a special discount, redeemable if booked within 90 days after the show for a stay in 2026. Imagine coming to Denver and, instead of a city hotel, spending the night at a resort in the mountains – still within a normal city commute from the venue. That is a Colorado advantage.
So, come to Booth 1212, get on the bus, and see it for yourself. We will be happy to show you around.
Sustainability is a big theme in Glamping – how do your domes contribute to eco-conscious hospitality
Are there particular features or design principles that support low-impact, off grid, or sustainable operation?
We look at sustainability the same way we look at profitability – if it is not built in from the start, you will be chasing it forever.
A dome is already efficient by design. You use less material to cover more space, which means fewer trucks, less freight, and less waste.
Performance matters. They are engineered for high winds, deep snow, heavy rain, and temperature swings from the desert heat to the mountains. Special insulation layers keeps them warm in winter, cool in summer, without excessive power use. Guests still get everything they want – air conditioning, a bathtub, or the option to open a window to the breeze.
Actually, sustainability is not just a market trend. It is a matter of respect and reverence – we are in outdoor hospitality, and that means taking care of the places we build in, and have a special philosophy in place. We approach it systematically, with a long checklist that every project is to be as ESG compliant as possible. And we strive to push past the minimums, so operators can show guests they are not only meeting the expectations, they are far exceeding them.
A full-season build makes the impact even lighter – no seasonal tear-downs, no re-builds, no fleets of trucks coming in and out twice a year. One footprint, continuous use. Guests get comfort without the guilt, operators get lower running costs, and the land stays intact.
What’s next for Harmony Domes?
Are there new projects, innovations, or market expansions you’re excited about in the next 12 months
Last year was about proof of concept. Taking the turnkey model from start to finish – and showing it works in the real world. The Nest at Black Hawk did exactly that. Developed, built, booked before the first guest walked in. That is the benchmark we hold ourselves to now.
The next year will be all about scale, and offering opportunities for new partnerships.
We have multiple new resorts already underway – some for clients, some our own, where we will run the full operation. Texas, Colorado, Florida, and more in the pipeline. All of them running roughly on the same 200-day average turnaround from first drawing to opening day. It is about delivering while the energy is there, before delays chip away at budget, focus, and excitement.
A new development for us is adding multiple formats – tiny houses and log cabins. These can also be highly customized, and deliver amazing comfort. It is a common misconception, that log structures or cabins are more expensive, but again, if manufactured at scale and with proper engineering – we can get them to be very competitive, without sacrificing absolutely anything.
We have also opened a new path for people to join us as co-investors. Not everyone wants to run a resort – and honestly, not everyone should. But you can still own part of one. Large-scale, professionally managed, with a secure ownership structure, even profit split, and a clear exit plan. For some, this is the smarter way in – lower risk, less strain, and still all the upside of being in this market.
That is where Harmony is heading. More builds. More opportunities for both operators and investors. More resorts that run all year, perform from day one, and give guests the comfort of a premium stay in the middle of the outdoors.
It is not just about putting up more structures. It is about getting more people out into nature – to breathe, to slow down, to remember what matters, and have an experience to remember. And that is what is important for all of us.
