What every dome includes

The Core essentials every dome ships with, before any package upgrades.

  • Powder-coated steel frame
  • Architectural-grade PVC outer membrane
  • Blackout membrane, blocks light bleed and steadies interior temperature
  • Door opening + frame (door not included on Core; fits a standard 36x80)
  • Transparent PVC panorama window
  • Air vents and foundation attachment kit
  • Setup instructions + live support

Insulation for cold climates: every dome includes a reflective foil liner. For year-round living in colder regions, synthetic bedding insulation is added and tuned to your climate and county code, sized in the configurator or on your quote.

About this dome

Open, column-free space (530 sq ft (50.3 m²)) under a 4.0 m / 13.2 ft peak, with a recommended capacity of 4-5 people. Built to live in, not just to camp in, and a popular choice for hosts who want a unit that photographs beautifully and books year-round.

The geodesic shape encloses the most usable space with the least material, so it costs far less to build than conventional construction and holds its temperature more efficiently, by design. A dome also grows stronger in proportion as it gets larger, because the triangulated shell carries its load around the curve rather than fighting it.

Premium, architectural-grade materials

Built from premium, architectural-grade materials chosen to last. The outer cover is a high-grade Belgian architectural PVC membrane: fully waterproof, flame-retardant, UV-resistant and self-cleaning. The frame is high-grade galvanized, powder-coated steel, protected against rust and corrosion. Glass doors and windows are double-glazed aluminum systems built for daily use. We hold the membrane, insulation and load-test certificates and share them on request.

Built for four seasons

Insulation is layered to your climate: a reflective foil liner and synthetic bedding for most sites, with spray foam available on installation for extreme cold or humidity. It holds its temperature and stays quiet and dry inside while the weather moves outside.

What owners say

★★★★★

"We compared a few suppliers and went with Harmony for the build quality, and it shows. Two winters in and it is still warm, quiet and dry inside. Guests always say how solid it feels."

Marcus R. · Blue Ridge, NC
★★★★★

"The team actually picked up the phone through the whole build. Having someone walk us through the install took the stress out of it, and the dome books out almost every weekend now."

Danielle P. · Hill Country, TX
★★★★★

"I wanted something that felt like a real room, not a tent, and that is exactly what we got. The finish and the panorama window make it feel like a little hotel suite in the woods."

Yuki T. · Columbia River Gorge, OR

Questions, answered

What is the difference between the Core, Comfort and Signature packages?

Core is the structure itself: frame, architectural membrane, blackout layer, door opening and a PVC panorama window, ready for you to finish. The door is not included, and any standard 36x80 door fits. Comfort adds foil insulation, a finished canvas liner and curtains, so it is warm and welcoming inside. Signature steps up to glass doors and windows, solid wall panels and blackout curtains for a finished, year-round home.

Can I change the configuration after I pick a package?

Yes. Pick the package closest to what you want, then open the configurator to adjust glass, skylights, ventilation, heating and cooling, and more. For anything beyond the options shown, talk to us and we will quote a fully custom build.

What do I set the dome on? Do I need a foundation or a deck?

Your dome anchors to a wooden deck, a concrete pad, or firm, level ground using the heavy-duty anchor plates included with every dome. A round or multi-sided platform that matches the dome base works best, since it lets rain and snowmelt run off cleanly. Every order includes base dimensions and a deck guide, so you or your builder can prepare the spot before delivery.

Can I use the dome year-round, in cold winters and hot summers?

Yes. With insulation and the Comfort or Signature package, the dome holds heat well through winter and stays comfortable in summer, and it takes a standard heater or AC unit like any small room. The shape sheds snow and stands up to strong wind when anchored. Domes finished this way are lived in across four-season climates.

How tough are these domes?

Engineered up to 250 mph winds and 100 psf snow load, with a 15 to 20 year lifespan. If your county code calls for higher ratings, choose the heavy-duty or extra heavy-duty frame and we build to that spec.

What are the domes made of?

Premium, architectural-grade materials built to last: a double-sided, knife-coated architectural PVC cover that is waterproof, flame-retardant and UV-resistant, on a high-grade galvanized, powder-coated steel frame, with an expected service life of 15 to 20 years.

Is the dome under warranty?

Yes, and it's in writing. The galvanized steel frame and the architectural cover carry a 5-year warranty. Windows and any manufacturing defects are covered for 14 months. With normal care, the expected service life is 15 to 20 years.

How is the dome assembled, and what help do I get?

Each kit ships with an illustrated assembly manual, a full parts list, and our team on call throughout. Most owners build with a small crew over a few days: four to five people for the smaller sizes, six or so for the larger ones with basic lifting help. If you would rather not manage it yourself, a Harmony build lead can be arranged to oversee the build on site.

How long until I get my dome?

Typically 9 to 12 weeks from order to delivery, built to your county code. We keep you posted at each stage, from design confirmation through manufacturing to shipping.

How does shipping work?

Shipping is quoted separately for each order. We shop multiple carriers to find the best mix of speed, insurance and cost for your location, then confirm it with you before you commit, so there is no surprise at checkout. You receive tracking once it ships.

Do you help with permits and financing?

Yes. We provide engineering documentation that supports permitting, and we connect you with financing, including soft-pull monthly plans through Hearth. Permit requirements vary by county, so we help with whatever your local office asks for.

What does the $500 reservation mean? Is it refundable?

The $500 reservation holds your build slot and your pricing while we finalize your configuration and shipping quote, with no obligation to complete the order. It is fully refundable, and it applies toward your purchase when you move ahead.
